I’ve always been reflecting on what the future holds. These are my personal takes based on what I’ve observed, experienced, and believe will take shape in 2025.
Honestly while writing this I felt like those “feng shui” experts you see on TV before the year ends doing their own predictions for the showbiz and celebrities!
More SaaS Products Are Coming
We’re going to see a flood of SaaS products, tools that solve specific problems, platforms that cater to niche markets, and innovations that we didn’t think we needed until they arrive.
The challenge, of course, will be standing out. With so many players entering the scene, it’ll be all about who can truly deliver value and stay ahead of the curve. One thing’s for sure though, SaaS is only going to grow, and it’s going to grow fast.
The Power of Community-Based Solutions
I’m seeing more and more community-driven initiatives here, popping up in all sorts of spaces. Magento, Startups, MSMEs, virtual assistants, even running and gym clubs. They’ve become hubs where people share ideas, work together, and create real solutions.
Whether it’s a product designed for a specific group, a campaign that brings people together around a shared goal, or even solutions that come directly from the community, the impact is undeniable.
What’s exciting is that this isn’t just about making money. It’s about creating something with purpose, something that brings value to everyone involved. Platforms built by the crowd, solutions made for hyper-local challenges, and tools designed with collaboration at their core are more than trends.
They reflect a uniquely Filipino way of approaching growth and innovation. The Bayanihan spirit of the Philippines. It’s this sense of trust, shared experience, and collective effort that makes what we create here so meaningful and, honestly, so powerful.
More Policies for Infrastructure, Data Security, E-commerce, and AI
Scams and hacks left and right. It’s honestly a problem for consumers and business alike. My gut tells me we’re going to see a lot more government action in this area in 2025.
Enforcement has always been a challenge in the Philippines. Even with great policies in place, the lack of consistent implementation often leaves gaps that undermine their effectiveness. We need stronger systems to ensure they’re enforced properly, along with accountability at every level. Without this, the trust we’re aiming to build might never fully materialize.
It’s a challenge, but it’s one we absolutely need to address if we want to create a safer, more reliable digital landscape for everyone.
AI Adoption Is Becoming the New Normal
A quick story: Last Sunday, I was booking a meeting room for our team in BGC. It was late, around 9 PM, and I hit a payment issue. I messaged their support on Messenger, not expecting much, but I was surprised to get help immediately. It wasn’t a human, it was an AI agent!
The AI asked me the right questions, documented the issue, and made sure everything was ready for the human team to pick up in the morning. That experience made me realize how much AI can improve late-night or high-volume customer support. It’s not perfect, but it’s better than waiting until someone’s available.
Another experience: I got a call from my internet service provider recently, and the conversation was entirely in straight Tagalog. I figured out it was an AI when the responses were too polished, I mean no awkward pauses, no “Taglish” blend you’d normally get from a human. I wasn’t annoyed. In fact, I thought, “Wow, this is already here, and it works.”
This is just the beginning. Big companies are leading the charge with AI, and as more businesses experience its benefits firsthand, adoption will spread fast. AI won’t just be for the big players, it’ll be a tool for everyone, from startups to traditional businesses.
Wrapping It Up
These are just my thoughts, but I believe 2025 is going to be another year of innovation and growth. From the SaaS boom to community-driven solutions and mainstream AI adoption, it looks challenging, exciting (and scary).
For me, it’s about how we use these trends to create solutions that matter—to our customers, our teams, and our communities.
