A company’s ethos should only be measured by the real-life changes it brings about. Simply having ‘community’ and ‘giving back’ on a company page somewhere isn’t enough to make these true values unless they’re backed by tangible actions.

These are the standards that Dev Team holds itself to every time we commit to giving back to our communities.

Payroll Giving 

One of the systems we created with the goal of giving back is the Payroll Giving Programme. It works simply by giving each Dev Team employee a chance to participate in specific charity donations through an opt-in form where they can pledge any amount of money from their incoming salary.

We announce each charity in advance so team members can make informed choices about their donations.

Dev Team Lights the Match

After the donation period, Dev Team will match the total amount contributed by employees. This effectively doubles the impact, encourage bigger donations, and gives the chosen charities greater support.

Donations at Work

This July, Super Typhoon Carina devastated the Philippines, bringing heavy rain, strong winds, and severe flooding that injured many and destroyed homes. In response, we launched our first Payroll Giving campaign throughout August, aiming to gather donations for the Philippine Red Cross.

In September, Dev Team handed over the collected amount to the Philippine Red Cross, which was working to provide relief to those affected by the typhoon.

This opens the door for more initiatives like Blood Drives and opportunities to volunteer in community efforts, which Dev Team is excited to support further.

In gracious reciprocity, the Philippine Red Cross has offered to provide training and seminars related to first aid and safety for our team. This collaboration shows that collective efforts lift everyone up.

Ready for More

Now that we have established our Payroll Giving Programme, we are excited to expand its application to other charitable initiatives. This framework allows us to introduce new causes. And gives our team the option to choose how involved they want to be for each separate campaign.

The Payroll Giving Programme is only one of the many ways Dev Team is expressing our Bayanihan core value. We will continue to commit time and money to the communities we serve to create real-life changes.
